Privacy policy
MockBazaar collects only what it needs to run your account and your tests: your name, email, optional phone number, your exam preferences and your test attempts. We do not sell personal data. You can ask us to access, correct or delete it at any time by emailing academic@mockbazaar.com.
Who is responsible
Ceptor Labs operates MockBazaar and decides how your data is used (the "data fiduciary" under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). Contact: academic@mockbazaar.com.
What we collect
- Account: name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), optional phone number, target exam and study preferences.
- Test activity: answers, time spent per question, scores, percentiles and bookmarks.
- Payments: plan, amount, date and invoice details. Card and bank details are handled by the payment provider, not stored by us.
- Usage and device: pages visited, browser, device and approximate location from your IP address, through our hosting providers, Vercel Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (session recordings with form fields masked).
- Coaching students: if you study with a coaching institute on MockBazaar, the institute adds or invites you and can see your attempts and scores. The institute is responsible for that relationship.
Why we use it
- To run your account, your tests, scorecards and analytics.
- To send service emails: sign-in codes, password resets, receipts and replies to your messages.
- To keep the service secure and to fix problems.
- To improve questions and features using aggregated, anonymised statistics.
Where it is stored
MongoDB Atlas (database), Render (application servers), Vercel (website hosting), Cloudflare R2 (uploaded files), Google (sending email) and Microsoft Clarity and Vercel Analytics (usage analytics). Some of these providers may process data outside India under their own safeguards. How we protect it: security and data handling.
How long we keep it
While your account is active. When you delete your account (Profile → Delete account) or ask us to, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except records we must keep by law, such as invoices.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, update or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, and name a nominee, by emailing academic@mockbazaar.com. If you are not satisfied, contact our grievance officer (see contact), and after that the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
MockBazaar is meant for people preparing for government job exams, who are normally 18 or older. If you are under 18, use MockBazaar with a parent's or guardian's consent.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. Analytics tools set their own cookies to count visits.
